सहवासाचा परिणाम किती होऊ शकतो याच सुरेख उदाहरण आचार्य विनोबांनी दिल होत. ते म्हणतात की आकाशातुन पडणारा पावसाचा थेबं हातावर झेलला तर तो पिण्यायोग्य असतो. तोच गटारात पडला तर मात्र त्याची प्रतिष्ठा इतकी ढासाळते की तो पाय धुण्याच्याही लायकीचा राहत नाही. तोच थेबं गरम तव्यावर पडला तर त्यांच अस्तित्वच संपुन जाते. तो नष्ट होतो कमळयाच्या पानावर पडला तर मोत्यासारखा चमचम करतो आणि शिंपल्यात पडला तर प्रत्यक्ष मोतीच बनतो थेंब तोच परंतु कुणाच्या सहवासात येणार यावर त्यांचं अस्तित्व त्याची पत प्रतिष्ठा अवलंबुन असते.
